Out-of-Date AntiVirus Definitions

Summary:
Instructions on how to update McAfee VirusScan

Description:
AntiVirus Software is required to be kept up-to-date with the most current protection against viruses. If the Clean Access Agent detects that your copy of McAfee VirusScan is out of date, you will required to update it before accessing the network.

You are currently being placed in a Temporary Role with limited network access to perform the necessary updates. Depending on which updates are missing, you may be required to perform several reboots.

Q: My AntiVirus application has expired, what do I do?

A: Click here to download McAfee VirusScan for FREE!

Q: I'm having problems using the LiveUpdate features in my AntiVirus program. Can I download them manually?

A: Yes. Click the logo below for the corresponding page.

McAfee Update Instructions:

  1. Right click the McAfee shield logo in your Windows Taskbar. If necessary click "<<" to view the shield icon. (Figure 1.0)

  2. Select Update Now... from the menu. (Figure 2.0)

  3. The update should start automatically if you are connected to a network. When the update is complete you should see a windows like (Figure 3.0)

McAfee Update Scheduling Instructions:

  1. From the VirusScan Console, (Figure 4.0) Double-click on AutoUpdate and select Schedule(Figure 5.0)

  2. In the Schedule Settings window (Figure 6.0) select the Schedule tab. We recommend you configure it to update daily.

  3. OK out of all the menus to confirm your schedule.
