Resnet Information
The ResNet program is a joint effort between the Colleges and University Housing Services (CUHS) and Information Technology Services (ITS) to provide a modern, flexible communications infrastructure throughout the student residence areas. ResNet provides a Help Desk to assist students in getting their hardware and software working properly to connect to the network. You can contact the Help Desk at (831) 459-4357, or via email.
To connect to ResNet, you need the following four things:
The ResNet network requires machines to obtain their network addresses from the campus DHCP server. Instructions for how to do this for the operating systems we support are included below:

As long as you set your machine to obtain an address via DHCP it should work on our network. Unfortunately, ResNet does not offically support the Linux operating system, but help is available from the campus Linux Users Group: http://sluglug.ucsc.edu/.
